Research

Contemporary social problems cannot be solved by any single discipline, and we must have a competency to manage, or even initiate, multidisciplinary problem solving. Sociotechnology is a means to solve societal issues using natural and societal scientific knowledge and methodologies. International development is one of the fields with urgent necessity of its application, and further policy coordination and innovation to achieve interdisciplinary collaboration is required by the global society. Sound academic knowledge on when and how governments and markets work (or not) serves as a catalyst to facilitate efficient and effective implementation of public policies and private sector initiatives. Building on theoretical, empirical and comparative analysis of public policy, we have sought a holistic understanding of dynamics in politics, public administration and governance around the world.
